The Relationship Between Metabolism and Nutrition

Metabolism and nutrition go arm in arm mainly because one who ingests a good diet will usually have a body whose metabolism is not producing a ton of stored fat. (Unless of course one eats too much of that good food) Yes, there will be those people who eat a horrible diet and have a fat metabolism that allows them to have a lean build, but such a ‘positive’ is so random it can not be duplicated by one whose body simply doesn’t work that way without taking an illegal drug such as GHB. (Needless to say, that is not an advisable avenue to take)

Probably the best advice one can offer regarding metabolism and nutrition would be to actually engage in the process of nutrition in order to actually have a metabolism. That is to say, do not make the foolish mistake of not eating in order to drop weight. The reason for this is not only will a person not end up losing weight, the person might actually end up gaining weight. When one goes on a highly calorie restricted diet, the body’s metabolism will start to drastically slow down in order to conserve stored fat as the body is uncomfortable with not having a consistent supply of food.

Also, it is wise that quality is the dominating factor behind metabolism and nutrition. Unfortunately, there is far too much processed food on the market that greatly impacts metabolism in a negative manner. Refined sugars and trans fat are villainous ingredients designed to lower prices while increasing shelf life. Processed food is almost always high in calories and low in, if not completely without any, nutritional value.

Metabolism and nutrition exist in harmony when one does the right thing which is a combination of proper diet and exercise or increased activity level. When this is done – when metabolism and nutrition are in harmony -- the results will be highly appreciated by one looking for the secret to a lean physique.
